- The canal
For the Vélodyssée, the coastal cycle path linking Roscoff to Hendaye, this 1400km cycle route takes in all the landscapes of the Atlantic coast on signposted paths.
Hiker's Charter
- 1. Dress appropriately, as the weather can be unpredictable.
- 2. In the hot season, I drink regularly and bring a cap and sun cream.
- 3. Don't stray far from signposted footpaths or cycle paths.
- 4. In town, I stay on the pavements and generally respect the highway code and my speed.
- 5. I respect private property.
- 6. I don't leave rubbish on the road, I remember to pick it up.
- 7. Don't light fires.
- 8. I keep my dog on a lead and I'm discreet, wild animals don't like to be disturbed.
- 9. Respect other users and be courteous; the paths are open to everyone.
- 10. Our environment is rich and often protected. I respect the fauna and flora and I remember to clean my soles, because without knowing it, I could be harming biodiversity.
- 11. During the autumn-winter hunting season, I am vigilant. I can check the hunting calendar on the ONF signs or on the Office National de la Chasse website.
- 12. When cycling, I protect myself: helmets, lighting, brakes in good condition and tyres inflated, I wear a retro-reflective jacket at night or in grey weather, I have a bell...
- 13. If I notice any anomalies on the circuits, I report them to the Sables d'Olonne Agglomération urban planning department on Suricate via sentinelles.sportsdenature.fr.
