An icon of the charming market town of l'Ile d'Olonne, the church of Saint-Martin in Vertou and its picturesque bell tower are adorned on certain evenings with a chosen range of colours, a lighting scheme that simulates the rounds of a marsh guardian from the viewing gallery.
The 43 spotlights installed around the building create around twenty different scenarios, a surprise light show for an unusual stroll at dusk.
On the Ile d'Olonne, it's a bit like Christmas all year round.
