With a mission to re-evaluate the meaning of ‘Around the world Alone’ sailing and to shape the future of ocean odysseys, the ANT ARCTIC LAB will be taking on the ANT ARCTIC LAB Challenge – one of the last great sailing quests of the natural world.
Taking place between 21st July 2019 until February 2020, the ANT ARCTIC LAB goal is to sail a unique 60ft. yacht, 34.000 nautical miles single-handed, nonstop and without assistance from Les Sables d’Olonne (FRA) to Arctic waters round the North, down the Pacific Ocean and passing Cape Horn to circumnavigate the Antarctic continent.
After rounding Cape Horn a second time, the journey will continue north through the Atlantic Ocean to the final destination of Les Sables d’Olonne (FRA).
Designed and constructed by Innovation Yachts, the ANT ARCTIC LAB bespoke Open60AAL will take its skipper Norbert Sedlacek Koch to the edges of uncertainty, by engineering a sailing first and proving that the “impossible” can be done!
The ANT ARCTIC LAB is the ultimate yacht building and extreme sailing challenge as well as a record-breaking expedition like no other before!
