Created in September 2024, the Young Vocal Ensemble of the Marin Marais Conservatoire is taking part in its first public performance in a major musical project: the creation of an opera for children, with a professional orchestra and a personality from the world of theatre and film: actor, director and singer Lambert WILSON.

This musical creation, in the wake of the greatest English novelist of the 19th century and on the borderline between scholarly and popular music, takes the listener through the places that marked his life and work. From Chatham, via London, the Midlands, Scotland, Italy and America, to Westminster, where the author of David Copperfield and Oliver Twist is laid to rest in the poets' corners of the Abbey, this musical reading offers an original insight into Charles John Huffham Dickens, 'The Inimitable', the tireless traveller, humorous popular storyteller and novelist, painter of unhappy childhoods and industrial exploitation.
